Social Impact at Scale

and every one a reason

Loneliness has become a public health concern. The WHO reports it as such, and between 57 and 79 percent of students describe themselves as significantly lonely. The post-COVID generation is looking for connection, and many are not finding it.

We work with what we know. More than 8,000 residents across Germany and Austria live in i Live and Rioca houses with shared kitchens, terraces, language nights and small everyday rituals that bring people into contact. The houses are designed for that, and most of the time, it works.

The apartment
arrives in one piece

Together with our partner Stengel, every wet cell holds the entire apartment inside itself, fully packed and protected, before it ever reaches the building site.

Series production in the factory.

The furniture, the fittings and the kitchen elements for the apartment are packed into the wet cell on a controlled factory floor, with the precision and consistency that only series production can offer.

Delivery as one unit.

The module arrives at the building site as a single, fully packed unit. The crane lifts it into the apartment shell in one move, which keeps logistics and disturbance on site to a minimum.

Unpacked inside the apartment.

The module is opened on site, the contents unpacked and the connections made. What arrived as a sealed unit becomes the finished apartment, with the Rio skyline above the stove already in place.

The result

A finished design,
built to a consistent standard.

The bathroom that arrived sealed inside its own module is now in place. The work that would otherwise be done on site, often in difficult conditions, is done in the factory instead. The result is less waste, more consistency, and a finish that does not depend on the weather.
